Celtic FC
--------------------------------------------------------------------     Celtic Football Club are a football club from Glasgow, Scotland, who currently play in the Scottish Premier League, the highest form of competition in Scotland. The full name of the club is The Celtic Football club. Until 1994, the club's full name was The Celtic Football and Athletic Company Ltd.
Celtic play home games at Celtic Park (commonly referred to as Parkhead) which has a capacity of 60,832, making it the largest football stadium in Scotland. In 2006-07, Celtic Park attracted an average attendance of 57,543, Together with their rivals, Rangers F.C., they form the Old Firm which is one of the most famous and most fierce rivalries in sport. Celtic has traditionally been linked with its founding roots which originate from the Irish immigrant community in Glasgow.
In 1967, Celtic became the first northern European team to win the European Champions Cup, which had previously been the preserve of Italian, Portuguese and Spanish clubs. Celtic won every competition that they entered that season: the Scottish League, the Scottish Cup, the Scottish League Cup, the European Cup and the Glasgow Cup. Celtic are the only club ever to win the trophy with a team composed entirely of home-grown talent; as all of the players in the side were Scottish, and all were born within a 30-mile radius of Celtic Park. Celtic again reached the European Cup final in 1970, only to be beaten by Feyenoord in extra time. In 2003 Martin O'Neill led the team to the UEFA Cup final in Seville where they lost 3-2 to F.C. Porto after extra time. Over 80,000 Celtic supporters travelled to Seville for the final - the largest travelling support ever to have assembled for a single game, according to UEFA.
The club's traditional playing colours are green and white hooped shirts and white shorts with white socks.
Celtic have an estimated fan base of nine million. Celtic also have the most 'Supporters Clubs' in world football, existing in every corner of the globe.
Celtic won the Scottish Premier League and Scottish Cup in 2006-07 season.

Stadium - Celtic Park
--------------------------------------------------------------------     Celtic Park is a football stadium in the Parkhead area of Glasgow in Scotland. It is the home ground of Celtic Football Club. The all-seater stadium is also known as 'Parkhead' (due to location) and nicknamed 'Paradise' by Celtic fans, an ironic tag used to denote its close proximity to Janefield Cemetery. It is the second-largest sporting arena in Scotland (after Murrayfield) and the third largest club soccer stadium in the UK after Old Trafford and Wembley.
Celtic have investigated the possibility of increasing the capacity of Celtic Park. Peter Lawell the Chief Executive said in April 2007 that the site of the Main Stand could be redeveloped to increase the capacity by 8,000, but at the moment it was considered too expensive. Future development may be influenced by Rangers plans to increase Ibrox to 70,000.
In 1938 Celtic Park saw its largest attendance of 92,000 when Celtic played a First Division match against Rangers. During the 1990s, while the National Stadium at Hampden Park was undergoing redevelopment, Celtic Park hosted a number of cup finals, most recently hosting the Scottish Cup final of 1998, and Scotland internationals.
In 2002 Celtic Park took 59.9% of the votes in a BBC Radio Five Live poll to find the UK's favorite sporting venue, out-polling the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff and Lord's Cricket Ground in London. The stadium is located a few miles east of the city centre in the east end of Glasgow.
Celtic Park will host the opening ceremony of the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
